SUMMARY:

This research investigates the process of debates surrounding the establishment
of the Labor Court in Paraná and the paths taken by the state's workers over
nearly three decades (1940-1970) in their struggle for rights before this institution.
Through the analysis of labor lawsuits—both individual and collective, the latter
filed by unions—I examine the main demands presented and how conflict
mediation took place in the courts, arenas of intense disputes between
employees and employers. The sources used come from the Memory Center of
the 9th Regional Labor Court of Paraná and the Memory Center of the 2nd
Region of the Regional Labor Court of São Paulo, where a prior documentary
survey has already been conducted. One aspect of the investigation is the issue
of dismissals and unjustified layoffs of immigrant workers, especially Germans,
during World War II, a theme that emerges from the analysis of judicial processes.
