RESUMO:

In this dissertation we doing an analysis of the biography Hitler: A Study in Tyranny written by Allan Blullock, in 1952. Biographical writing plays the role of constructor of the image of those who are biographed and, in this sense, the biographers are “engineers of this building”. The metodological choices, temporary clipping and the narrative approach are some of the elements that will shape the image that the biographer intends to give to the biographed. The work was the place where ideas and intentions of writing about the character was materialized. The narrative will be our object of study and interpretation, looking for to understand what was said about Hitler and how it was done. Identify meanings, intentions and the linguistic contexts that allowed the author to build the “particular idea” of the character, what biographer intended to present his particular contribution about Adolf Hitler. Defining and comparing constructed portraits will be our objective of analyzing when confronting the biographical writing by Bullock with the images in the world. With the purpose of testifying the importance that the author gave Adolf Hitler inside german history through the narrative
