SUMMARY:

This research aims to analyze the actions and relationships of Giulite Coutinho based on his position as a businessman, sports executive, and leader of institutions in both sectors during the Brazilian regime. The analysis is grounded in the perspective of the civil-military regime and in the development of the relationships established between the dictatorship and civil society. The study focuses on the period of the creation of the Brazilian Exporters Association and the leadership roles at America Football Club, the National Sports Council, and the Brazilian Football Confederation, under the presidency of Coutinho. To address the research questions, the study draws upon press coverage and archival dossiers that shed light on Coutinho’s collaboration as an export-oriented entrepreneur and his trajectory as a football executive, highlighting his agency and the projects he carried out simultaneously in two areas closely intertwined with the dictatorship.
