SUMMARY:

This present work has the primordial objective to discuss the samba projection in post-
abolition period and agency of the acting subjects. Will be problematized the concept of
cultural mediator and it will be bringing a new concept in this harvest named by Lurian Lima
as the mediation paradigm. Another important point will be the analysis of a type of writing
and the memorialist production regarding the role of mediators, having the example Noel
Rosa, which i personally call of “escrita noelesca”. A type of production made by samba
white scholars, made after death of Noel Rosa which put it in in contrast to his compositions
of Black musicians. Which have more in common with the white scholar’s production about
samba and the so-called popular music than necessarily the work of Noel Rosa. At all, it is
necessary to use sources that value the voice of those subjects that this type of production
undervalues, for example the Museu de Imagem e Som (MIS) reporters, articles from
newspapers and other independent producers of information. Another important source is the
own production of the noelesca writing, for example, the program of the radio broadcaster,
musician and journalist Almirante, “No tempo de Noel Rosa”. All these sources, associated
with the analysis method will corroborate with the work objective which is show how the
process of buying and selling of sambas, promoted by theses white "cultural mediators",
helped to secondary the black protagonism in the process of samba professionalization at the
same time that an attempt was made to whiting the style by leaving the so-called
mediators in evidence.
