This work analyzes historical denialism, with a focus on the Holocaust, as a practice of deliberate manipulation of collective memory. The research demonstrates that this phenomenon is not merely a distortion or an alternative interpretation, but rather a political and ideological movement aimed at rehabilitating authoritarian and antisemitic discourses. The study revisits the emblematic case of the legal battle between Deborah Lipstadt and David Irving, showing how the dispute transcends the academic field and reaches ethical, social, and political dimensions. It concludes that combating denialism requires more than exposing lies: it demands the affirmation of historical truth as a narrative resistant to manipulations, preserving memory as an instrument for the defense of democracy and human rights.
