RESUMO:

Studies about the history of the BaixadaFluminense, have already begun and are developing more and more in the academic field, where several areas present relevant works on the social, historical and population process on this locality. This work, however, intends to evaluate the history of BaixadaFluminense through a new perspective, addressing the process of industrialization that starts to develop in the region of Nova Iguaçu from the second half of the twentieth century. The present dissertation, will focus not only on studying the industrial process in isolation, but on the historical process that the country was experiencing in the initial period of the installation of these industries in Nova Iguaçu, and which individuals have endeavored to attract the industries for the municipality, changing the course not only of the economy of the municipality, but also the social habits and customs that the establishment of an industrial economy to the detriment of a predominantly agricultural economy, could lead to region. The main thesis, is to identify these subjects and to know their relations with the national-developmental policy established by Vargas and Juscelino, and how this commitment in the industrialization stimulated by the representatives of the federal government, gained adhesion of certain subjects inserted in a local structure, to encourage the attraction of industries, trying to understand not only who these subjects were, but what they wanted with this practice and what were their actions to attract industries to the region. New Iguaçu from the 50's of the twentieth century changed its economic and social course, this transformation did not take place overnight, neither in an autonomous way, but through subjects who sought to change the course of history due to several factors which this paper aims to clarify.
