RESUMO:

This research aims to contribute to the social history of Science anh history of women in Brazil. Having as object of study the psychiatric hispitalizations of political activists accused of subversion to the political and socil order imposed by the military regime in force in the years 1970, eleven processes are analyzed through psychiatric reports signed by military and civilian doctors. We seek to understand how the authoritarian ideologies broadcast by the Government after the Coup of 1964 and hardened at the endof this decade interfered with production of diagnostics, showing a link between the so-called “psy”, with na emphasis in Psychology, Psychiatry and Psychoanalysis, which not only bred authoritarianism prevailing in society, as also collaborated actively with him, thanks to te status acquired by these áreas with in the middle and upper-middle classes in urban Brazil, bound himself to a psychologizing of everyday life made possible by emptying from public life due to repression. While not a unique phenomenon of the military dictatorial period, argument that the State served as a catalyst of these practices while control policies and social exclusion, which characterize the militants as deviant and non-political subjects, highlighting issues of their bodies, behaviors and sexualities as having abnormalities that would have led to subversion, even when torture of prison were pointed to as the causative elements of mental disorders. In this way, we intend to discuss the ideological dimension aspects presente in these scientific discourses, finding its roots in the historical contexto in which authoritarian were registered.
