This qualifying material will focus primarily on Black women in the then federal capital, between the years 1888-1915, and their clothing, aiming to contribute new historiographical perspectives on Post-Abolition Rio de Janeiro, from a history of fashion that offers a perspective on another social class, on working-class and Black women, and not only on the elites, as is traditionally the case in fashion history.
