This paper aims to analyze the construction of the concept of Norman amid French historiography. In our analysis, we will privilege the theoretical support of different French-speaking historians in an attempt to understand how this historiography made use of these peoples in the construction of French society. This work is part of an analysis that aims to understand the way Aimoin de Saint-Germain-des-Près made use of the Normans as instruments of God's punishment, fixing a position amidst the tensions existing in the power relations of the frank society of the century.
