SUMMARY:

The target of this research is to discuss the relation between the communists and union movements in Bahia State from 1945 to 1957. The perspective of analysis is the partie's resolutions that resulted in changes of general political lines, specially refering to communists  actions on union environment and the relation of this resolutions with real and concrete actions. I understand that there was not a direct and simple relation between this orientation changes and militants actions, but I believe it's relationed perspectives: the history of the changes on the political lines and History of PCB's work on unions.  Therefore, a History of communists' action on union environment that uses only parties resolutions wouldn't be complete, and, at most, could be a type of "History of Political Line changes". In this direction, only on the research of actions,this history can be analysed. During this time the PCB was going through some changes in its political line and consequently changes on union politics. Analysing these questions on determinated space, I plan to analyse the changes, not only as tactical changes, but through the actions of militants that used to work on union environment. In this sense, I believe it would be a mistake to affirm the communists that worked with the workers in divergents actions of guidances would be simply against parties guidances, or facing the leadership of the party, because in several moments, many external elements of the party was determinant on the type of action that could be done. I used some autobiographies to try to answer how the militancy received the new guidances. The focus, therefore, is the activities, the dialogue with the parties guidances and how this memory built part of the narratives about this period, with all fights of called "memory battles". I will use thesys, manifests, parties resolutions and, about party militancy, i will search for memories, on communist press, specially on bahian journal O Momento, and in repression sources that have many information about this, including abundance documentation attached.
