THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE HISTORICAL METHOD: A study of the theoretical work of Johann Gustav Droysen (1857-1882).
Theory of history, Historical Method and History of Historiography.
This work aims to analyze the construction of the Historical Method from the theoretical work of the German historian Johann Gustav Droysen (1808-1884). It is a seminal proposal of a Disciplinary Matrix of History as an autonomous science and conciliatory synthesis of concerns around objectivity and subjectivity of historical knowledge. We start from the supposed that the author sought to relate in a specific way some of the central problems raised by German Idealism, relating them with the methodological aspects discussed by Hermeneutics, starting from a new vision of History forwarded by the 19th-century Historicism. All these questions were discussed from a broad dialogue between Droysen and intellectuals linked to Philosophy, Theology, Philology, History and synthesized in his reflections that embodied his book Grundriss der Historik (1857-1882), our main source in the discussion here placed
