Founded in 2000, ANTRA (National Association of Transvestites and Transsexuals) is a
national network that articulates a total of 127 institutions that develop actions to
promote citizenship of the population of Transvestites and Transsexuals. The aim
of this project is to analyze the trajectory of this NGO focusing on its social and
political work - from its foundation to 2019 (year of the last published report). It is
also our goal to focus on how it presents itself, how the survey of these data is carried out,
what is its role as a means of resistance for transsexual and transvestite individuals.
Some of the objectives are: To identify the field of action of this NGO, not only in the
dossiers that are published, but also in complementary sources used by them:
website, instagram, twitter, facebook and events; Assess how ANTRA analyzes these data on death and violence and how they use the materials that come out in the press.
