SUMMARY:

The dissertation in question is about the historical transvestite subjectivities in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in the 1960s. The reflection is made from the analysis of oral narratives of some transvestites of the so-called "first generation" of the city, photographic images and sources from the press, among selected newspapers and magazines so that the work was developed in a way that was relevant to the theme. The text is divided into two units, the first one that refers to the trajectory of transvestite and transvestite shows, in addition to highlighting the role of nightclubs as spaces of great importance for the constitution of sociability and friendship networks that, in a certain way, collaborated for inventions and subjective reinventions of the aforementioned generation of transvestites. Special emphasis will be given to "Favela nightclub", "Stop Club" and "Alcatraz nightclub", all located in the Copacabana neighborhood. In the second unit, the focus will be on theaters, highlighting the pioneering spirit of the company Les Girls, an important group of transvestites and transvestites at the time. I will also highlight the shows that took place in the theaters "Dulcina", "Brigitte Blair", "Carlos Gomes" and "Rival" as important spaces not only for creating networks of friendships, but also for disputes, conflicts and tensions as well as nightclubs. I cannot fail to mention that the construction of the work was only possible thanks to the collaborations of Suzy Parker, Yeda Brown and Aloma Divina, these artists who worked in some of the aforementioned spaces and shows, which allowed a privileged analysis of the processes of subjectivation, emergence of subjectivities and self-writing.
