FIGHT: Coletivo DeNegrir at UERJ-State University of Rio de Janeiro
Denigrate, Affirmative Actions, Black Movement, Afro-descendant
This research has as a case study and object the development and action of the Coletivo de Negras e Negros - DeNegrir - UERJ (State University of Rio de Janeiro), in order to show how the organization of black students was of paramount importance in changing the behavior of the prototype, the rule, the institutional and academic scheme Eurocentric at UERJ, which until then neglected the importance of discussions on affirmative action policies and denied the contribution of the Afro-descendant population in the formation of Brazil. That is, in addition to adopting new perspectives for action, the movement of Black Youth, women and men, arising from the racial quota system, still focused on creating and enhancing educational networks who were and are responsible for the diversity of education in terms of the Afro-descendant population within the community of the State University of Rio de Janeiro.
