Trigonometry with digital technologies: A formation-research in a subject of prospective mathematics teachers
Trigonometry; Sine; cosine; Tangent; Trigonometric Functions.
This research aims to contribute to improvements in the teaching and learning of trigonometry with digital technologies. Particularly looking for work and/or activities with a historical and/or playful approach. A preliminary mapping carried out in the Journal do Instituto GeoGebra International de São Paulo is presented. Nine studies related to trigonometry and trigonometric functions were captured using GeoGebra. In addition, contents belonging to the portals “Multimedia Mathematics” and “Digital Content in Mathematics for High School (CDME)” were catalogued. A preliminary study is also described with undergraduates in Mathematics from UFRRJ whose objective was to analyze the sequence of activities (AS) with an individual and collective vision, in order to observe what each one has as gaps in their learning. As preliminary results, there is a great difference in the amount of work related to trigonometry and trigonometric functions, 2 and 6 respectively, in addition to 1 referring to area calculation. In terms of technology, all works comment on the potential of using technology in the classroom. None of the mapped articles addressed any historical context. On the other hand, the catalogued materials had a historical and less traditional approach, without losing mathematical rigor.
