THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PUBLIC EDUCATIONAL POLICIES AND THE ACTIONS OF RURAL SOCIAL MOVEMENTS: A STUDY ON THE REALITY OF TWO RURAL COMMUNITIES IN THE REGION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CATALÃO, GOIÁS

This project analyzes the impacts of the advancement of agribusiness on the peasant communities of Cisterna and Olhos D'água in the municipality of Catalão, Goiás. The objective is to investigate the social, economic, and educational challenges faced by these families. Initially, the study will review the history and life experiences of the residents to understand the obstacles they face in preserving their culture and traditional way of life. The methodology includes a literature review on the dialectical theory of the addressed themes and the definition of four specific objectives, with two theoretical chapters based on documentary and bibliographic research on Rural Education and Social Movements. The field research will also include two chapters and will be conducted through ethnography, recording the residents' accounts. Finally, a comparative method will be applied to analyze the similarities and differences between the communities. The expected outcome is to understand how social movements and educational public policies for rural areas can promote the sustainable development of these communities in their territories.
