Woman; Graduate; Agricultural Sciences.
This research aims to analyze and understand the experiences, perspectives and implications of the process of being a woman in the Graduate Program in Agricultural Sciences of the Instituto Federal Goiano Campus Rio Verde, consequently this study falls within the field of gender and education studies. The research participants, the graduates of the aforementioned Graduate Program, are made up of a group with great diversity in terms of experiences and education. Their trajectories were shaped by the multiple experiences acquired throughout their journeys as students, professionals, researchers and in their family and social contexts. The institution to be analyzed offers a favorable environment for the proposed research, as it represents an educational institution with more than fifty years of existence and that covers different educational levels (technical, undergraduate and graduate). This space allows the analysis of the existing power dynamics. Furthermore, the context of exclusion present in this study is highlighted, since when working in the area of Agricultural Sciences, an area traditionally associated with men, women face several challenges that range from inclusion and professional growth to underrepresentation in positions of prestige and power, in addition to structural and cultural obstacles that limit their entry and permanence in scientific research. Given this scenario and in order to respond to the specific objectives of this study, we will use documentary analysis, the questionnaire and interviews in order to get to know the profiles of the participants, understand the factors that influenced them to pursue scientific research, as well as understand the challenges faced in this process, and also identify the strategies and forms of support that they consider most effective for expanded and successful participation of women in scientific research, especially in the area of agricultural sciences. The interviews will be analyzed through Bakhtin's dialogic discourse analysis (DDA) and Ginzburg's evidentiary paradigm technique in order to understand the experiences of these graduates and how they evaluate their educational trajectories within this educational institution, in addition to contributing to discussions about the presence of female scientists at the University.
