Information literacy in Professional and TechnologicalEducation: research-training in cyberculture to combat misinformation in the Libraries of IFGoiano. 2025. 90 pages. Thesis (Ph.D. in Education, Contemporary Contexts and PopularDemands). Institute of Education/Multidisciplinary Institute. Federal Rural University of Rio deJaneiro, Seropédica/Nova Iguaçu, RJ, 2025.In the contemporary context, information has reached an unlimited speed and fluidity, requiringskills to distinguish information that is relevant to the construction of knowledge. In thissociotechnical scenario, disinformation has become a worrying phenomenon, with disastrousimpacts on various areas of society. Given the complexity of this phenomenon, we ask whetherinformation literacy, in the context of research-training in cyberculture, can contribute tocombating disinformation. We support the methodological approach of research-training incyberculture (Barbier, 2002; Lévy, 1999; Macedo, 2010; Nóvoa, 2004; Santos, 2005, 2019,2022), multi-referentiality (Ardoino, 1998; Galvão, 2019; Morin, 1998, 1999) and research witheveryday life (Coulon, 1995; Ferraço, 2003) with the objective of developing a learning devicethat contributes to the understanding of the informational universe and its phenomena, and thatstrategies constructed in research-training in cyberculture help cultural practitioners to reflect onthe data produced by and with educators and researchers through the mediations carried out in theLibraries of IF Goiano. We hope that, based on the analyses and interpretations of the dataproduced, substantive notions can emerge that account for the specificities of this research, withthe aim of developing indicators to combat disinformation..Keywords: Disinformation, Fake News, Information Literacy, Cyberculture, Libraries.
