This study, linked to the line of research Education and ethnic-racial and gender relations: languages and Afro-diasporic studies, aims to investigate how teachers in the municipal education network of Queimados-RJ view the sexuality of people with intellectual disabilities, and more specifically, to observe the developments in the pedagogical practices of these teachers; to verify the understanding of teachers about the categories under study (intellectual disability and sexuality) in the school educational process; to understand how these representations guide the pedagogical practices that circulate in teaching activities in the network; to discuss education, intellectual disability and sexualities based on the analyses carried out; and to structure pedagogical possibilities based on the data collected for the circulation of knowledge and experiences about the approaches in the interviews. This research, registered under process number 79435424.2.0000.0311, was assessed by the Ethics Committee of UFRRJ, through the Plataforma Brasil, and obtained the respective approval protocol. The methodological design of this research is based on a qualitative approach in the field of education, anchored in narrative research as a structuring axis. Formative conversations were adopted as the main methodological strategy, accompanied by the use of questionnaires and semi-structured interviews, which contributed to deepening the understanding of the subjects' experiences. In addition to these instruments, the experiences of the researcher himself, as an active member of the public and school education community of the municipality of Queimados, in Baixada Fluminense, metropolitan region of the State of Rio de Janeiro, also comprised an important formative and reflective dimension in the investigative process. The research was carried out with the participation of Basic Education teachers who work in the municipal network, in the final years of Elementary School and teachers who work in Specialized Educational Assistance (AEE). The theoretical approach follows the assumptions of Collins (2024, 2022, 2021), Mussa and Simas (2024); Foucault (2007; 1997 and 1988); Rufino (2021); 2018, (2012, 2010 and 1999), Glat; Freitas (1996), Sassaki (1997), Vygotsky (2001) among other theorists of the socio-historical perspective of sexuality, inclusion, and narrative research. It is expected that the training process developed throughout this research can contribute significantly to the promotion of educational practices committed to the anti-ableist perspective, promoting actions that aim to overcome historical processes of denial, repression and erasure of the sexuality of people with intellectual disabilities. May these practices, rooted in ethical listening, dialogue and recognition of pluralities, become concrete paths to affirm rights, value existences and expand senses of inclusion in school and social experiences.
