RESUMO:
The present research has as objective the master dissertation that is circumscribed to the private space of the lives of evangelical women of Nova Iguaçu, RJ. Daily life regulated by oppressions of various kinds, whether in the affective area, as well as the experiences and social burdens imposed and or delegated to women, in many cases entails the three “s” present in women's lives, namely: suffering, submission and silencing. The phenomenon of domestic violence affects all women on a global scale, making no distinction between education, ethnicity, social group and religious creed. The research will investigate the private space of the lives of evangelical women who suffer violence, multiple modalities, by their husbands in the vast majority of evangelicals since such theme is considered a little talked about social problem, especially in the church. We aim to investigate from the speech of women the phenomenon of domestic violence with women who claim to be evangelical. To conduct the research, a group of ten evangelical women of different denominations were interviewed. Data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE, 2010) shows that in the municipality of Nova Iguaçu there are approximately 300,000 evangelicals, and investigating the private lives of evangelical women has become necessary with regard to the discussion to eradicate and or reduce domestic violence. that reaches women on a global scale. Facing the task of investigating the phenomenon with church-related women requires prudence and caution when conducting the approach without harming the religion in question. In Brazil, after the implementation of Law 11.340 / 06 (Maria da Penha Law), the media has been reporting cases of domestic violence and victims belonging to the evangelical institution have hardly appeared in the cases reported by the media, since then the concern to investigate the phenomenon with iguazuan evangelical women. Institutional silencing imposed on women leads us to think that they are shy and have been silenced. Discussing / researching the various forms of silencing is breaking with the patriarchal norm that still dominates the social environment. Breaking with the legacy of patriarchy rooted in the evangelical framework that still reproduces that the man is the head, the one who leads and the woman helps him and agrees on all his decisions.
