THE INDIAN SCHOOL IN RIO DE JANEIRO: WHAT THE YEARS SAY FROM 1845 TO 1875.
Indian education; Empire; Neutral Municipality Rio de Janeiro.
In this research we propose a return to the nineteenth century, during the Empire, more precisely to the moment when the indigenous were in the Court of Rio de Janeiro and being subjected to the rules of coexistence established at the time. We can say that these groups formed the forerunners of 21st century urban Indians. In this context, we seek to investigate subsidies that describe if there was and what was the type of school education offered to indigenous peoples who lived the second period of the nineteenth century. The History of School Education in Brazil presents us with a diversity of periods, subjects, popular movements, proposed methodologies, thoughts and actions of different men and women who dedicated themselves to thinking and mainly presents clues that lead us to the understanding of educational diversity in Brazil. that we live. In this sense, it is commendable to remember the struggles for schooling that respect the diversity of peoples. Let these recollections be moments of denunciation or conquest, liberation or pedagogical imprisonment (BENJAMIN, 1994).
