THE "YOUTHIFICATION" OF YOUTH AND ADULT EDUCATION IN THE CITY OF ANGRA DOS REIS: PROMISSES, DIVERSITIES, INEQUALITIES AND EXCLUSIONS

The developing research addresses the intersection between youths and schools, focusing on the debate on "youthication" within Youth and Adult Education (EYA) in the Education System of Angra dos Reis city. The study investigates the existing processes, dynamics and elements in the educational system, which generate a huge number of young students in the EYA classes, a modality that historically had been appearing as a place for adult and the elderly students who had not had access to education or have not completed their Basic Education stages. The research is articulated around the following question: in the context of the Education System of Angra dos Reis city, what mechanisms influence or are related to the Youthfulness within the Elementary Education of Education for Youths and adults? In an attempt to understand this context, we privilege the perspectives of Managers and the Technical-Pedagogical Team, who work in the Regional Pedagogical Spot (RPS) of EYA in the city public System, as well as the documents and researches produced within the scope of municipal management. The methodological procedures adopted, to date, are based on the qualitative approach, Bogdan and Biklen (1994), using the following techniques: i) bibliographic research; ii) documentary research; iii) semi-structured interview; iv) analysis of secondary data from the EYA Profile Survey (prepared by the Education Department of Angra dos Reis).Theoretical studies are developed under the reference of: Haddad and Di Pierro (2000, 2015), Libâneo (2012), Sales (2013, 2014, 2016a, 2016b), Paiva (2007 and 2009), Carrano (2003 and 2015) , Peregrino (2010, 2011 and 2017), Andrade (2004, 2019), Algebaile (2004 and 2013) and Julião (2017), in order to understand the movements and processes related to the nuances, tensions, advances and setbacks of Brazilian education as a whole, the field of Education for Youths and Adults, in addition to issues related to youths and the schooling process of the popular strata.
