SUMMARY:

The work “The Expanded Privatization of Brazilian Education: a case analysis based on
the actions of the Lemann Foundation” began to be producedin 2020, 30 years after the
World Conference on Education for All, in Jomtien, and is being qualified in 2022, the
year which celebrates 20 years of existence and performance of our research object, the
Lemann Foundation, and will be defended in 2023, when the Neoliberal Historical
Block, today in its Social-Liberal format, completes 50 years of Hegemony. Its title,
linked to this chronological coincidence, speaks for itself. In this way, the main
objective is extremely clear and consists in answering the objective question: can it be
said that there is an ongoing development of the phenomenon of the Expanded
Privatization of Brazilian Education? Forthis,weusetheGramscianconcept,
absolutely central, of the Expanded State as a Methodological Tool, in order to carry
out, in a documentary way, a case study dissecting the actions, partnerships and
undertakings of the family organization of the richest man in Brazil, Jorge Paul
Lemann. The social relevance is perceived when we consider that it is scientifically
proven, according to extensive bibliography, that 30 years ago Educational Reforms,
organizedbyInternationalOrganizationsandphilanthropicfoundationssuchas
Lemann's, were undertaken in Latin America, and more specifically in Brazil, to to
adapt this region of the periphery of global capitalism to its place in the current
InternationalDivisionofLabour.Apartfrombecomingawareofthebourgeois
strategies that are developed via the educational follow-up with the aim of generating
Consensus, itis the first step to provoke, in the words of Aparecida Tiradentes, “the
necessary indignation to organize the energies of the struggle of the working class”

and combat it. them. However, the aforementioned route follows:
analysis of the materiality of cur
rent capitalism; to then explain the model of education
that contemplates this peripheral Neoliberal superstructure; and finally, we carry out the

case study dialectically clashing the Lemann Foundation's undertakings against critical

hich will ask what are the interests of a billionaire in public
education
