Protective factors associated with the media and body image: with the voice, high school students with visual impairment

This research aims to identify protective factors associated with the body image of visually impaired high school teenagers, focusing on body media messages. Method: This research is characterized as a cross-sectional, descriptive, qualitative study. For data collection, the focus group technique will be used. Three focus groups will be held, one representing each year of high school, with an average of 10 to 13 students per group. The study sample will be composed of approximately 40 adolescents with self-reported visual impairment, of both genders, regularly enrolled in educational institutions attending high school in the State of Rio de Janeiro. A moderator's guide will be used, with the dynamic script and questions. This guide will contain questions about the media, body image and protective factors. Data analysis will be carried out by categorical content, based on three stages, pre-analysis, material exploration and treatment of results. Expected results: this research is expected to contribute to the development of the theme on the protective factors associated with the body image of visually impaired high school teenagers, in addition to expanding their knowledge for future actions in the field of School Physical Education.
