DECOLONIZATION OF THE BLACK ISSUE AND THE FORD FOUNDATION: A NEW PEDAGOGY OF HEGEMONY?

Black Question, New Pedagogy of Hegemony, Social-Liberalism and Ford Foundation.

ABSTRACT: The ongoing research is about the ruling class, education and decolonization of the black issue in Brazil. This research is part of the Laboratory of Investigations in State, Power and Education (LIEPE) in the studies carried out on the social-liberal front. Education as a public policy has disputes within the Extended State, and we intend to understand the role of the ruling class and the process of updating the domination strategies used by the bourgeoisie, which has in public education the main support for the dissemination of its power project , for the control of the ideals of the working class and for the maintenance of the current capitalist mode of production in its social-liberal phase. Contemporary capitalism is marked by activities developed by the numerous Private Apparatuses of Hegemony that spread the New Pedagogy of Hegemony in Brazil, among which we selected the US Ford Foundation for this research. This choice was made according to its centrality in the financing of educational actions related to the racial issue in Brazil in the last fifty years. In this research, we are particularly interested in focusing on the interpretation of the theoretical elaboration made directly by the Ford Foundation on the black issue, so we will interpret its conceptions and worldview through the speeches and writings of the organic intellectuals of the foundation on this racial theme.
