This is a brief presentation of the content of the dissertation or thesis (Appendix E), which
highlights the most important aspects. The summary should not be confused with
summary, which is the list of chapters and sections. The following aspects are to be
considered when writing the summary:
a) the text of the summary will be preceded by the respective bibliographic reference of the work,
written in accordance with current standards, in single space; the title of the dissertation or thesis
should be in bold. (see Standard ABNT-NBR 6023/ in force-References

b) the summary will be written in a single paragraph, single-spaced and on a separate page,
containing a maximum of 500 words.
c) the first part of the summary should describe the subject covered and then highlight the
objectives, methods, results and conclusions.
d) after the end of the text, three (3) keywords or combinations of keywords must be entered
words. Separate words with commas and do not use bold.
e) in the case of a dissertation or thesis in chapters or articles, a summary must be included
general, before the SUMMARY, in addition to summaries for each of the other chapters or
articles. In chapter summaries, the corresponding reference is not necessary
bibliographical.
