ABSTRACT

 

This Doctorate in Education study is linked to the line of research Ethnic-racial and gender education: languages and Afro-diasporic studies of the Postgraduate Program in Education, Contemporary Contexts and Popular Demands – PPGEDUC, at the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro - (UFRRJ) and was structured within the scope of experiences, reflections and contexts of struggles in/of public education, and from the Group of Studies and Research in Teacher Training and Education Professionals – GRUPEFOR, and the Laboratory of Studies of Gender, Education and Sexualities- LEGESEX. This research aims to investigate the representations of teachers from the Municipal Network of Queimados - RJ, regarding the sexuality of people with Intellectual Disabilities, and more specifically, observe the developments in the pedagogical practices of these teachers, verify the teachers' understanding of the categories under study - Intellectual Disability and Sexuality in the school educational process, understand how these representations guide the pedagogical practices that circulate in teaching practices on the network, discuss Education, Intellectual Disability and Sexualities based on the analyzes carried out and structure pedagogical possibilities, based on the data collected, for circularity of knowledge and experiences about interview approaches. This research, process 79435424.2.0000.0311, is in the final stage of compliance assessment with the UFRRJ ethics committee, through Plataforma Brasil, in order to obtain its consent protocol. The methodological design is based on a qualitative research approach in education, exploratory and with research instruments evidenced through the use of questionnaires and semi-structured interviews, in addition to the researcher's experiences as a member of the educational, public and school community in the municipality of Queimados, in Baixada Fluminense, metropolitan region of the State of Rio de Janeiro. We bring it as an empirical field.  The research will be carried out with Basic Education teachers who work in the Municipal Network of Queimados – RJ. The participating professionals are teachers from the Final Years of Elementary School and teachers from the Specialized Educational Service (AEE) of the Municipal Network of Queimados. The theoretical approach follows the assumptions of Foucault (2007; 1997 and 1988) Louro (2012, 2010, 1999 and 1997), Moscovici (2013; 2001), Glat; Freitas (1996) Vygotsky (2001) among other theorists from the socio-historical perspective of sexuality, inclusion, and social representations. We hope that the training process can encourage, highlight and perhaps guarantee, anti-disability practices and full of actions that allow the elimination of processes of denial/repression and erasure, in relation to the sexuality of people with intellectual disabilities.
