SUMMARY:

This doctoral project aims to analyze the political and pedagogical implications of the inseparability of teaching, research, and extension in the context of the Federal Network of Professional, Scientific, and Technological Education, focusing on the Instituto Federal Goiano (IF Goiano). The research is based on the constitutional premise that these three dimensions are inseparable in public higher education, seeking to understand how this principle is implemented in institutional practice. As a professor at IF Goiano, I use my own professional experience to investigate the challenges and potential of the articulation between teaching, research, and extension in the academic training and social action of the institution. The analysis is based on historical-dialectical materialism and will be developed through documentary analysis and survey. Among the main challenges identified are: lack of infrastructure, teacher overload, scarcity of resources, absence of an integrated institutional culture, and limitations imposed by the institution's own internal regulations. Furthermore, the research addresses the curricularization of extension and the evolution of the concept of inseparability in the Institutional Development Plans (PDI) of IF Goiano since its creation in 2008. The study aims to reflect on more integrated and critical institutional practices that promote citizenship training and social development, in order to highlight the need for more effective public policies to guarantee the real integration of the three dimensions in Brazilian public higher education, especially in technological professional education.
