DIVERSITY IN TEACHER TRAINING: AN ANALYSIS OF GENDER AND SEXUALITIES IN A NORMAL COURSE SCHOOL
Gender, Sexualities, Teacher Training, Teaching.
The present study has the purpose of investigating and reflecting on the issues of gender and sexuality in a Normal Course school in Baixada Fluminense / RJ. The themes proposed for this work have been criticized and strongly posed by fundamentalist and conservative groups, but it is basic that the school space develops its work based on the diversity that emerges life in society. In this sense, talking about teacher education becomes necessary, since teaching produces experiences, knowledge, inquiries and enriches the school routine. Therefore, the initial and ongoing formation of the teachers needs to dialogue with the questions that are growing more and more on the school floor. As a research strategy, we sought to listen through a questionnaire to the students who completed the third year of the Normal Course and the teachers who taught these students. I emphasize that in the period of the research the school was visited several times for observation, conversations with the various segments of the school and participation in the daily events carried out. In this sense, it is important to highlight the relevance of this research in order to guide an education that values diversity and that is committed to dialogue with the initial and ongoing formation of its teachers, with a view to the plurality that surrounds us socially.
