RESUMO:

This research is a branch of the project Education of ethnic-racial relations in digital culture, touched by LEAM. The central project, roughly speaking, intends to account for the challenges posed by the issue of racism in Brazilian society and the uses of ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies). It is from this project that inserts the problems faced in my research for a dissertation. In this case, I intend to problematize the methods hegemonically accepted by the social and human sciences, recurrent in research in the area of education, in teacher training. In addition, I want to draw inspiration from the method in other fields, including from other fields that are not only in Education, even if they also educate. In order to contribute to the discussion I raise, I call Eduardo Coutinho's cinema, since it mobilizes methodological devices that will be the guiding thread of this research, such as: the encounter, the narrative, the conversation, the daily life, the experiences, the event , among others. Coutinho presents methodological possibilities whose devices are simultaneously and instantaneously reconstructed in which the other causes it. Therefore, I opt to launch my desires to study these ways of doing having as a research material the film The thread of memory. To think about what this audiovisual production brings of elements to the debate on racism in Brazil, especially for this film raise the controversy, still current, of having been a white subject to produce the film in celebration of the centenary of black abolition. With this, I have the challenge of understanding this film from the perspective of this encounter: white, socially accepted with the black, stigmatized.
