SUMMARY:

Due to racialization as a basic criterion for the economic and social development of humanity, and more specifically of Western society, especially from the “creation of the Black” and its intertwining with the concept of slave throughout the capitalist project (“black becoming”), contemporary philosopher Achille Mbembe and the rappers of the group Racionais MCs deepened their criticism of the executioners of what Mbembe calls necropolitics/necropower. In this context, methodologically we intend to correlate concepts developed by the Cameroonian philosopher with perspectives produced by Brazilian rappers from ethnographic evidence, as well as we seek to articulate the problems raised from the development of the concept of race, described by Mbembe in his work Critique of Black Reason (CRN), aiming to investigate the narrative performance of the Racionais, understanding hip hop culture as a way of subverting the various ills specifically faced by black racialized individuals in Brazilian society. Thus, taking the CRN as a starting point, and considering the mishaps faced in the (re)construction of identities despite the delirium of the European creation of race/racism, the present investigation emphasizes rap as a political-social commitment, therefore, more than artists, Mano Brown (Pedro Paulo Soares Pereira), Ice Blue (Paulo Eduardo Salvador), Edi Rock (Edivaldo Pereira Alves) and KL Jay (Kleber Geraldo Lelis Simões) are urban thinkers, organic intellectuals whose work effectively contributes to the development of reflections and survival strategies in facing necropower. In this sense, Mbembe and Racionais are critics of the system, but also, and mainly, of the executioners who make necropower work in everyday life; among others, in the massive production of hatred, indifference, and the constant reactivation of the fear of death, demonstrated throughout this work through the concepts developed by the philosopher and, above all, through the narrative performance of the rappers, whose revolution consists in the centrality of discourse for peripheral subjects and their claim to inclusion, precisely because exclusion pragmatically represents the condition of existence of the organization of the necropolitical system, in which the subjects that occupy each racialized space in the world need to find/develop ways to transvalue, subvert, reinvent, create ways for surviving, in the struggle for emancipatory spaces.
