SUMMARY:

The National Curricular Common Base (BNCC) is the current guiding document for national education. Among the areas of knowledge addressed in this document, Physical Education stands out as a curricular component that aims to mobilize skills and knowledge through the body in motion. While Physical Education was linked to the area of languages, important changes can be observed. Concomitant to these, an aspect that is highlighted in this project is the body image. However, there is a gap in the literature about the interfaces between School Physical Education, body image and BNCC, both from a theoretical perspective and with regard to School Physical Education teachers' perceptions. This project is justified since it is a relevant research in the area of Education whose focus is established on documental analysis of the BNCC and on the perception of physical education teachers, seeking to show how these teachers understand, from the BNCC, the construct body image and its applicability in the school context. Objective: To analyze the interfaces between School Physical Education, body image and BNCC, considering both the content described in the document and the speech content of Physical Education teachers in School Physical Education. Method: This project is a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory research, whose data analysis will be carried out through semantic categorical content analysis. The study will be carried out in two stages: Study 01 - it is the documental analysis of the BNCC, Study 02 - 40 Physical Education teachers who work for at least one year in Basic Education will participate. The sample will be defined by convenience and its selection will take place voluntarily after signing the Free Informed Consent Term (ICF). It is hoped that this study can contribute to a more comprehensive knowledge about the Physical Education curriculum in Basic Education with regard to the content of body image in Physical Education, in order to support public policies and more assertive pedagogical actions consistent with a training based on the full and integrated formation of body identity.
