Reflexes of structural racism in the educational system of the City of Bananal-SP
Law 10.639/03 and Law 11.645/08 - Education in the city of Bananal-SP - Afro-Brazilian History and Culture
This research aims to analyze the structural racism and the reflexes of segregation in the educational system, specifically in the second cycle of elementary school, in the city of Bananal-SP.
In order to reach the educational area of Bananal's society nowadays, it is necessary to look around and understand the social characteristics in the history and present of the municipality. In this way, this project investigates (from interviews, documental analyses and on-site researches) the structure of the city, from its physical aspects, through the dwellers' housing organization, the privileged groups and the cultural characteristics of the population, to the way in which the city's education reflects the values considered as relevant by its inhabitants and continues to propagate, from its structure, the reflections of racism.
From this research, it is expected the re-signification of the stories, stimulating the anti-racist practices, mainly, what is oriented in the Laws 10.639/03 and 11.645/08, besides a greater reflection of the population to overcome social prejudices, making the privileges of a minority part of the population in a constant decreasing pattern and a more harmonious and fair society.
