Public Policies, Education and Social Mobility: The Trajectory of the Nova Iguaçu Social Preparatory Course

The theme of the dissertation in preparation is presented, whose object is the trajectory of a public policy project in the area of education undertaken from the middle of the first decade of the century in the municipality of Baixada Flum, inense, aiming to favor the insertion of local candidates in teaching higher. The project's apprehension possibilities are discussed from the considerations of Clauss Offe on social policies of the Modern State and Pierre Bourdieu on the political field and class habitus. We seek to locate the project by contextualizing it in the historical setting of the municipality of Nova Iguaçu, considering local economic, demographic, educational and political data. Preliminary hypotheses developed for the research are informed, as well as chosen methodological aspects.
