SUMMARY:

This qualification proposal aims to analyze the factors that motivated student dropout and retention, including academic, social and personal aspects, aiming to share the results of this research in order to motivate the planning of actions that can contribute to the retention of students. students in the Computer Science Course at the Multidisciplinary Institute - UFRRJ. To this end, we chose the qualitative and quantitative approach (quali-quanti) as our methodology as we consider them more relevant for this investigation. The research field is structured in two data collection contexts, the first being based on information from the data found in the Integrated Academic Activities Management System (SIGAA) and the second stage a questionnaire with the course students for a more detailed analysis. detail about the causes of course evasion and retention. We hope that this ongoing research will contribute as a basis for planning actions aimed at ensuring students remain on the course.
