This research falls within the field of gender and education studies. It will focus on the narratives of the training and professional trajectories of female professors in the Agricultural Sciences programs at Instituto Federal Goiano – Campus Urutaí. This group of women is heterogeneous, with diverse experiences and educational backgrounds. They have been shaped by the multiple experiences acquired as students, as professionals, and in their family and social lives. The campus in which they are inserted is a fertile ground for the proposed investigation. It is an institution with more than seven decades of existence and offers different educational levels. This environment is conducive to observing different power dynamics in professional relationships. These women are in a context of triple exclusion. First, because they work in Agricultural Sciences, a field historically associated with masculinity, reinforcing practices and values that hinder the entry and advancement of women. Second, because they work in a Professional and Technological Education institution, which has been marked by male predominance since its inception. Finally, the third layer of exclusion is the fact that they are linked to higher education, a space where women are still underrepresented, especially in positions of greater prestige. They may face structural and cultural barriers that limit professional entry and growth. For this reason, the research seeks to answer the following question: How do gender relations influence the training and professional trajectories of female professors in the Agricultural Sciences programs at Instituto Federal Goiano – Campus Urutaí? The focus of this study will be on the implications of "being a woman" in the training and professional practice of these professors. We aim to analyze the training and professional trajectories of female professors in the Agricultural Sciences programs at Instituto Federal Goiano – Campus Urutaí, and to understand how gender relations and institutional structures influence their educational and professional experiences. Specifically, we seek to: Present the emergence and transformations that have taken place at Instituto Federal Goiano – Campus Urutaí over time, particularly regarding female participation and changes in institutional culture; Highlight the factors and motivations that led the professors in the Agricultural Sciences programs at Instituto Federal Goiano – Campus Urutaí to choose the teaching career, as well as the influences that shaped their professional trajectories; Investigate the professors’ perceptions of their contributions to teaching, research, and extension in Agricultural Sciences, considering gender implications; Analyze the narratives of female professors in Agricultural Sciences programs to identify the implications and challenges of being a woman in the process of training and professional practice. This research is qualitative in nature and will be based on oral history methodology. We will use questionnaires and semi-structured interviews for data collection. The analysis will be guided by the evidential paradigm and in light of Dialogical Discourse Analysis, based on Bakhtinian language theory. We expect to identify the challenges faced by female professors throughout their training and careers. We seek to highlight the persistence of institutional and cultural barriers that hinder the entry, permanence, and advancement of women in this educational space.
