RESUMO:

Art is historically elaborated knowledge, which in its cultural significance brings, in the artist's view, a critical and sensitive view of the world. This research is based on theoretical references that cover the studies of the childhood, the teaching of the Visual Arts and the education of the Ethnic-Racial relations in the school. In order to approach and reflect the role that the discipline plays in the curriculum of Early Childhood Education, as a pedagogical resource for the identity formation of the child, especially the black child. Realizing the impact of racism in childhood and its effects is worrying, it can undermine a race, dominate, leave marks and silence in the middle school. Reflecting on the problem, do I think about what children know and have to say about racism? Why is racial equality still a challenge for education systems? How can Visual Arts help in this process? This text highlights our view of the child as a social actor, once his speech is desired. We recognize the importance of listening to those involved, "listening to their voices" in their participation in early childhood education, as well as their educational needs, are essential possibilities for this study with children, proposing the democratization of education. With the intention of contributing to the reflection that involves our permanent formation as teachers. To showcase pedagogical practices through the Visual Arts in Early Childhood Education, using different resources, wheel of conversations, photographs, drawings of children's reports. Attention to the cultural production of young children, especially of black children, their generational belonging, for the promotion of citizenship. Rethinking school s an identity trainer in favor of an education that prioritizes Racial Diversity in Early Childhood Education. For this, we are conducting an ethnographic research in the CIEP of the Municipality of RJ, together with children from 4 to 5 years, addressing the ethnic-racial issues in Early Childhood Education, which affirms the History and Culture of Africa, the origin and the achievements of blacks, with the intention of contributing to the children's knowledge and appreciation of the ethnic-racial identity of the Brazilian people, and that they can grow and live with differences, to abolish prejudiced and racist attitudes in the educational environment.
