SUMMARY:

The National Policy for Universalization of Pre-School - Law 12,796 / 13, the need to investigate how the municipalities are organizing themselves to assist children from the age of four in pre-school classes emerged in the Brazilian academic scenario. It is from this legislation that we intend in this study to identify how pedagogical work with children in the city of Itaguaí has been understood and how it works in the childhood experience of these children. Walking towards the rigor of the research method we find in Manoel de Barros's child poetry a way to intertwine poetry, childhood and politics. In addition to Barros 'poetic contribution, the research also uses Vigotski's concept of experience, translated by Prestes (2010) and Lopes' (2013) studies of childhood geography. The text is divided into three chapters. In the first, we deal with the methodological justification for choosing Manoel de Barros' poetics to discuss politics for childhood; in the second chapter we present a brief historical-political panorama of Early Childhood Education in Brazil, demarcating the context that makes pre-school compulsory. In addition, we also show the effects of how the national policy of universalization of pre-school has been translated into the daily practice of some municipalities through a literature review in the database of ANPEd, CAPES and SciELO and finally, in the third chapter we make a small sketch of the field research, until this moment, bringing some statistical data of the pre-school in the studied municipality.
