WORK SATISFACTION, WORK ENGAGEMENT AND BURNOUT SYNDROME IN THE CONTEXT OF THE MILITARY POLICE IN THE STATE OF RORAIMA

The present study aims to analyze the influence of the variables job satisfaction and Burnout syndrome on the work engagement of military police officers in the State of Roraima. The research is classified as cross-sectional, descriptive and quantitative, the participants are professionals who are carrying out their work functions in the institution, differentiated according to gender, age group and location where they carry out their activities. The mental health of these professionals needs to be highlighted in the scientific field, due to the vulnerability experienced by this public security agent, given the pressures and dangers inherent to the profession, in addition to the indispensability of the services provided to society. The theoretical basis of the study is positive psychology, theorized by Martin Seligman, which aims to focus on the elements that contribute to the happiness and development of the individual in the personal and professional spheres, promoting well-being and preventing pathologies. 252 military police officers from the state of Roraima participated in the present study, 230 (91.3%) men and 21 (8.3%) women (one participant chose not to identify their gender) with ages ranging from 25 to 50 years (average of 35.21 years and standard deviation of 5.53 years). .Participants completed a questionnaire consisting of 4 parts. The first part was intended to collect sociodemographic data: age, sex and place of work. The second part was composed of the Job Satisfaction Scale. The third part was composed of the Work Engagement Scale. Finally, the fourth part of the questionnaire consisted of the Burnout at Work Inventory. As hypothesized, the results showed a significant positive influence of job satisfaction on work engagement and a significant negative influence of Burnout syndrome on work engagement. The results are discussed in terms of strategies aimed at health and quality of life in the context of the Military Police of Roraima.
