SUMMARY:

Christian religions have raised countless debates in ecclesiastical environments on social issues such as abortion, sexual and family violence against women, sexual abuse and divorce. However, none of these subjects cause as much uproar and differences of opinion as addressing issues involving human sexuality, especially when referring to sexual orientations other than heterosexual. That said, this research project is based on a provocation, the problem of which revolves around the following question: what are the social representations (SR) of homosexuals inside and outside the church according to leaders of Protestant Pentecostal churches? This is a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive study, based on Abric's structural approach with theoretical support from the Theory of Social Representations (TSR), founded by Serge Moscovici. A total of 100 Protestant Pentecostal leaders will take part in the research. There will be a structured questionnaire containing the Free Word Evocation Task. There will also be open and closed questions. The Free Word Recall Task will be analyzed by prototypical and similarity analysis. The closed questions will undergo descriptive analysis and the open questions will be analyzed according to Bardin's content analysis.
