SUMMARY:

The writing of this project emerges from the terreiro (Candomblé temple), between the body, the axé (spiritual energy), and listening. The experiences that traverse my academic trajectory compose a crossroads of knowledge and lived experiences where knowledge is created from corporeality, orality, and ancestry. This work proposes to analyze the experiences of LGBTQIAPN+ bodies in the Candomblé terreiros of the Ketu nation, located in the city of Rio de Janeiro, investigating how these religious spaces, historically recognized as places of welcome and resistance, can also reproduce logics of exclusion and violence. The research is anchored in decolonial, Black, and trans epistemologies, based on intervention research and listening as a living and relational methodology. It also uses "escrevivência" (a term coined by writing about lived experience) and intersectionality as sources of analysis to transform lived experience into words and axé into science.
