SUMMARY:

This dissertation investigates the phenomenon of psychological rebirth from the perspective of Carl Gustav Jung’s Analytical Psychology, taking the biblical Book of Ruth as a symbolic–methodological axis for understanding the Sacred Feminine in Judeo-Christian mythology and in everyday life. Grounded in Jung’s essay “On Rebirth,” the study emphasizes the notion of renewal (renovatio) as a central experience in the process of individuation and as a source of personal and collective transformation. The research adopts Jung’s synthetic–constructive method, based on symbolic amplification, active imagination, and narrative capacity, understanding the written or spoken word as a mediator in the cultivation of the soul. Structured in a multipaper format, the dissertation establishes an interdisciplinary dialogue between Jungian Psychology and Biblical Anthropology in order to investigate three essential structures of psychological rebirth: narrative capacity, the servant-suffering ego, and cooperativity (love). Within this framework, the narrative of Ruth is not used merely as an object of analysis but as a symbolic matrix that illuminates the method itself and guides a sacred reading of processes of suffering, transition, and personal and collective psychological rebirth. The figure of Ruth reveals the relational and numinous character of the anima and expresses a form of individuation that unfolds in companionship, through bonds of shared transformation. By proposing a reading of the Judeo-Christian myth grounded in the archetypal image present in the Book of Ruth, this study seeks to contribute—through Analytical Psychology—to a broader dialogue with the human sciences, especially contemporary clinical psychology, offering a symbolic understanding of individual and collective psychological rebirth rooted in the experience of ordinary life as a sacred space of individuation.
