RESUMO:

Music has been target of research and its applications vastly debated in the scientific community. This study aims to analyze the effects of relaxing music on psychophysiological effects of stress in university level athletes of UFRRJ. 60 university atlhetes, men and women with age varying from 18 to 30 years old, will be invited to participate in three intervention protocols. MRC protocol, in which athletes will listen to music, selected and controlled (|BPM, genre and tempo) by the researchers, for 15 minutes. MRP protocol, in which athletes will listen to uncontrolled music for 15 minutes selected by themselves and the CTRL protocol, in which athletes will not listen to any musical stumuli (silence) during the 15 minutes of intervention. In all protocols there will be used the instruments, PSS – Perceived Stress Scale and STAI-S – State and Trace Anxiety Inventory before and after the interventions. In addition, there will be assessed the HRV – Heart Rate Variability during the whole intervention. For HRV assessment, there will be used the cardiac monitor POLAR RS800CX. |All instruments used in this study have been validated and highly used in scientific endeavours. Data being obtained, all results will be statistically analyzed in the SPSS v.20 statistics softaware. For all executed analysis there will be adopted the significance P value of 0,05.
