RESUMO:

This research seeks to address the psychologist's performance in psychosocial care, highlighting the relevance of the professional training process. Thus, it aims to understand how training leads to the performance of psychologists in Psychosocial Care Centers and what are the challenges faced by professionals in the insertion in this field. For this, we will use the qualitative methodology, based on semi-structured interviews with recently graduated psychology professionals who are working in CAPS located in different municipalities of the State of Rio de Janeiro. Data analysis will be carried out using the core meaning methodology and compared with the literature in the area. The results of this research can illuminate the strengths and weaknesses of training in psychology, in dialogue with the references of public health and psychosocial care. In this way, it is intended to contribute both to the debates around training and to the qualification of psi performance in the field of psychosocial care.
