SUMMARY:

In March 2020, a pandemic caused by a new coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, which caused the disease COVID-19, was decreed by the World Health Organization (WHO). The guidelines for coping with the public health emergency resulting from the coronavirus were regarding the adoption of social isolation of sick people, in case of worsening the situation, the adoption of social distance and, if necessary, the adoption of quarantine, as the best strategies to contain contamination by the virus. In Rio de Janeiro, many organizations had no choice after the state decree of social distance and adopted the teleworking modality. Considering the central objective of this case study, which proposes to describe the process of implementing this type of work, reporting the main challenges encountered by the Human Resources area and the adversities experienced in the management of remote teams, the research is exploratory in nature, with qualitative treatment, gathering literature review based on books, academic productions and published content, in addition to collecting primary data on the object of study, a Third Sector organization located in Rio de Janeiro. The field research instruments will be applied in a planned manner, taking into account the present need for social isolation, using forms and online interviews with the Organization's employees.
