RESUMO:

The present work carries out a theoretical reflection on the phenomenon of collective possession and subjugation of the masses, which leads to the inevitable social armed conflict, from the complex psychology of Carl Gustav Jung. It presents assumptions that support reflection and verifies among them the notions of aggressiveness; verbal and non-verbal language; cooperation and belief; drawing with illustrations the history of the human species, from the hominid ancestors to the present day. It clarifies aspects of human culture imbricated with beliefs and differentiates them from scientific knowledge. It exposes the structure and dynamics of the psyche with religious intertwining, in the light of the phenomenon of collective possession and armed conflict, to establish an understanding of the subjugation of the masses. Finally, it exemplifies with historical cases, social characteristics that reveal the subjugation of the masses whose antecedence is immediate to the armed conflicts. In conclusion, the work recognizes that mankind is endangered not only by the current technological potential of destruction, but also by the complexity of religious human values or under the false mantle of a religiousness.
