SUMMARY:

It is proposed to investigate the social representation of adolescents in conflict with the law by different groups, these being professionals who deal with adolescents in compliance with socio-educational measure, random subjects, and adolescents who are under socio-educational measure of hospitalization in a socio-educational unit in the State of Rio de Janeiro.The theoretical framework will be Serge Moscovici's Social Representation Theory, Moliner's Social Identity, Jean-Claud Abric's Structural Approach, in order to identify the central and peripheral core of such representations. The research will be qualitative and for data collection instruments will be used: the free evocation of words from the inducing term “adolescent in conflict with the law”; questionnaire with questions structured around the theme; and centrality test with social identity scales. This study is justified by the aim of finding answers that revolve around juvenile delinquency, as possible psychosocial causes; to verify how Social Psychology through the Theory of Representations and Social Identity can contribute so that not only the excluded social minority, but other groups can identify and give new meaning to their spaces of social interaction.
