SUMMARY:

This research project proposes to carry out an experimental and correlational study, in a longitudinal format with a sample selected for convenience and a quali-quantitative approach and which presents a triangulation of methods: (1) the first part of the study focuses on the development and description of the experience the application of a computerized professional guidance pilot program; (2) and the second part focuses on the use of this program in diversified samples, generating correlations and considering the perception of advisors and mentees. Its justification is based on the need to better support the adolescent population in making more assertive and safer professional choices. About 100 students of both sexes who are attending the 2nd year of high school (from State, Federal and Private Public Schools) and 06 psychology undergraduates who will be trained to apply the Orientation Program will participate in the study. Computerized professional acting as trainee professional advisors. The instruments used in the study will be the researcher's Field Diary, the Maturity Scale for Professional Choice - EMEP (Neiva, 1999), the Vocational Indecision Scale - EIV (Teixeira & Magalhães, 2001), socio-demographic questionnaires for mentees and mentors and pre- and post-intervention press conferences for mentees and mentors (in separate groups). The results collected by the quantitative instruments will be analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences for Windows (SPSS, version 18.0) to verify if there was variation in the students' maturity and indecision when carrying out the program. And the results collected by the qualitative instruments will be analyzed using Bardin's Content Analysis (1979) and Conversation Analysis (Myers, 2002).
