The World Health Organization (WHO) declares a pandemic status in 2020 in the face of a rapidly spreading virus. The COVID-19 pandemic led to a high number of severe cases in its most acute period, all at the same time, overcrowding beds and Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and collapsing the health systems of several countries. But the effects are not restricted to the epidemiological scope and affect the population in different ways depending on the age group and the state of social and economic vulnerability. Children should also be included in the debate when we think about the financial problems and illness, hospitalizations and deaths of close people caused by the pandemic, as this implies their sense of security and normality. One way to mitigate the effects on mental health arising from the pandemic is the comprehensive care offered by CAPSis in Brazil, which can be a useful tool in times of crisis. Mental health professionals who treat children and adolescents need to pay attention to the demands produced by the pandemic. There must be a reorganization of structures in order to provide comprehensive care to serious cases that arrive at the service. In this direction, the present research has as general objective to analyze the impact of the pandemic in the work processes of CAPSis of Baixada Fluminense from the perception of the multidisciplinary team of the service. Additionally, the specific objectives of the research propose to address the challenges brought by the pandemic moment; to investigate the production of knowledge on the subject of children's mental health in Baixada Fluminense; seek guidance from health reference institutions for the RAPS that focused on CAPSi's work processes during the health crisis initiated by the COVID-19 pandemic. An exploratory qualitative research will be carried out, using a semi-structured interview as a data collection procedure. The interviews will be transcribed, analyzed according to their content and correlated with information obtained from a literature review on the subject.
