Scientific dissemination is something very important in academia. Research professors learn to develop investigations and write scientific reports to be published, but most of the time, they are unaware of how the editorial process works. Even those who assume the role of editor of a scientific journal receive a quick training in their initiation, and their training takes place from their own investitures. There are different courses and sources of information, however, most address conceptual issues and brief exposition of the main tools. This research emerges from the critical evaluation of this training process in the Distance Education modality and asks whether Experiential Learning can contribute to beginner editors in the performance of their duties. This concern arises in the researcher as a result of his own trajectory as a scientific editor and his role as an educator of new editors. Therefore, the general objective of this study is to reflect on the contribution of the Theory of Experiential Learning, based on the researcher's own self-narrative, for the best adequacy, setting and effectiveness of an extension course in the distance modality for the formation of a scientific editor. It is a descriptive, qualitative study, inspired by the Grounded Theory, which will deal with data collected in two scenarios: the first on the process of continuing education of the researcher himself as an editor from 2016 to the present. The second scenario deals with two online editor training courses applied by the researcher in 2021 and 2022. The data will be analyzed according to the Emancipatory Dialogical Narrative Analysis, with the aim of contributing to the improvement in the adequacy, setting and effectiveness of the extension course in distance modality for scientific editor training, variables that link Learning by doing to e-learning will be highlighted.
